During contacts with WØOQC, he described a SSTV camera he had built using a Plumbicon tube. These camera tubes were used in industrial X-ray equipment and early broadcast color TV cameras. He sent me a diagram of the camera and I was able to locate a couple of these tubes via K7EEK. I assembled the camera per the diagram and even had to make my own deflection and focus coils for the plumbicon tube. It worked as described but required the live subject sitting in front of the camera to sit still or the picture will be blurred. The camera is housed in another surplus aircraft radio cabinet. The power supply is external to the camera. My camera was described in 73 Magazine September, 1972.
