The old vidicon cameras were found to not be useable for SSTV when modified for the 8 second frame system. W0LMD overcame that problem by designing a scan converter that stored the fast scan picture in a solid state memory and then read that information out the 8 second frame, SSTV system, format. Again he sent me a schematic and said try it. I was given a set of PC boards with that circuit etched on them by K7OLO. The unit was constructed and again as usual it worked as designed by W0LMD. I could now use my old fast scan vidicon equipped camera on SSTV.
