PVC Mounts, designed for Suitsat but OK for Yagis
At a local hamfest last Fall, I picked up a homebuilt dish mount for $10 that I called a Music Stand mount. No motors just an Azimuth turning top pipe and a horizontal clothesline stle elevation am with a neat idea for holding a dish at an elevation setting. It was all steel tubing and with its high center of gravity, promptly blew over in the wind.
I had some heavy wall 3" PVC Schedule 40 left over from former experiments, and with the addition of a few 3" fittings I came out with 3 mounts to use with my Suitsat 2M styrofoam patch experiments. All were equipped with 5" swivelling castors for easily moving around the garage and property. Pick one that appeals to you and try it. You'll like it.
The first one is a PVC version of the Music Stand mount but with very low center of gravity to withstand high winds.
The next version is built for use with small TV rotators like the CDR and a U100 doing horizonal duties. Isn't automation wonderful?
And lastly I built a PVC mount for tracking Suitsat using a HAM 4 on Azimuth and a KENPRO KPR-500 doing Elevation. Talk about overkill! This mount could move my 4 element 20 M beam! But they were just lieing around so I used them.
More pictures and building data to follow in a day or so.
