Nuclear Energy
Nuclear Energy has some highly polarized proponents and opponents. In ths webpage, I am not considering the disposal of nuclear wastes, I am merely considering the making or avoiding making of CO2 greenhouse gasses.
A Nuclear Reactor produces very little CO2, as far as I know. However the process of making the Nuclear Reactor requires the expenditure of a very large amount of energy, and this may more than offset the low amount of operational CO2. The development of the Atomic Bombs during World War II required a very large expenditure of Energy. The Oak Ridge Plant in Tennessee required 1/2 the energy of Tennessee to separate the U235 (Plutonium) from the U238 (Uranium).
France has a very mature Nuclear Power Generation system that provides a large amount of the National Electrical Energy Requirements, and their Nuclear Power Generation Sysems produce a very small amount of waste products.
