A Guide for assembling a receiving system and viewing an image from SuitSATV

(Click here to send E-Mail to W0LMD)

Suitsat was finally launched February 3rd, at about 4PM Mountain Standard Time. The launch was carried live on the NASA Channel and was beautiful. I Recorded the broadcast and have it on DVD.

.At 9 PM, Mountain Standard Time, it was announced on the NASA Channel that All Transmissions from Suitsat had stopped. The Suitsat footprint had passed over the Orient, Europe, Some of S. America, and Australia. It died 5 hours before its footprint was to have passed over the USA. My condolences to all those that tried so hard to make SuitSat a sucess.

I listened in Denver for Suitsat at the 1:56 AM Saturday pass and the 3:29 AM Saturday overhead pass. Nothing was heard on 145.990...........

The data transmissions from the ISS were heard at S9 +50 on 145.800.

You gotta see this to believe it! A Styrofoam Satellite Antenna

5 quickie mounts for your Styrofoam Patch. PVC to the rescue!

Receiving Amateur Satellites and capturing the images

Tracking programs tell when and where to look.

Recording what you hear and see.

Stay tuned; I'll be adding the details very quickly so you can get going. Building everything should not take more than a couple of days at the most.
