Battery Charging Systems

The energy derived from the various small systems is usually stored in rechargable deep cycle lead batteries. one of the more common batteries used is the ever popular Golf Cart batteries. Two of these Golf Cart batteries each at 6 Volt @ ~100H amperes rating, wired in series make a 12 volt @ 100 ampere for 1 hour unit. A Lead based 12 volt battery, either gelled cell or wet cell type, is charged up to about 14.5 volts, the charge is removed and when the voltage floats down to around 13.5 volts, the battery is again connected to the charger to bring it back up to 14.5 volts. This whole process is called a float charge system.
